Windows 10 Mail and Calendar

In early 2017, I assumed leadership of the design team responsible for the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps just as Microsoft began introducing the Fluent Design System. This presented a unique opportunity to not only modernize the product experience, but also help establish Fluent as the future of Microsoft's design language.

Working closely with Engineering and Product Management, I directed the creative vision for the experiences, positioning Mail and Calendar as flagship applications that showcased Fluent's core principles—including light, depth, motion, material, and scale—to hundreds of millions of Windows users.

The work below highlights a selection of the Fluent Design explorations and shipped experiences that helped demonstrate the potential of Microsoft's next-generation design system.
