Windows 10 Mail and Calendar
Positioned to be a leading driver of Microsoft 365 consumer growth and a primary showcase experience for the Microsoft Surface Neo and Duo platforms, the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps were in need of a significant rewrite to improve experimentation efficiencies, increase engineering velocity, and update instrumentation capabilities.
The decision to transition from XAML to React Native provided my team and I the opportunity to completely rethink the user experience. Centered on delighting existing customers, while attracting new ones, we focused broadly on personalization, customization, and building off the successes from the recent Outlook for Web redesign.
My role as the Product Design Manger was to iterate through the initial app framework at varying fidelities, providing the foundation from which my team of talented cross-functional Designers could craft feature-level experiences under my continued direction and in collaboration with Research, PM, and Engineering partners.
Here are some late-in-cycle concepts of the primary Calendar app composition, which has been released to some Beta audiences. The Mail app is yet to be released, and therefore confidential.
